NPA Intermediates Pre-Professional Training Company (Year 7 - Year 10)

Intermediates is our mixed ability performing arts training company. You will meet once a week to train for 2 hours in all aspects of performing arts, making you a well-rounded and accomplished performer on stage and screen. Don't be worried if you have never done anything like this before, if you have an interest in the performing arts, that is all that's needed. Our pupils all have different strengths, some are super strong actors, some are strong musical theatre performers, some like to write and direct - there is a place for everyone at NPA, and we are all working on our weaker talents because we want to be the best all-round performers we can be, to give ourselves the best opportunities in our future.

At this stage, you will be covering many elements of drama, theatre, acting for screen and stage, musical theatre, movement and voice work. You will try things such as street-dance, devised-drama, scripted acting, stage combat, improvisation, contemporary vocal techniques, musical theatre, TV and Film and developing your own choreography, to name a few.

If you are planning on studying GCSE, A Level or BTEC performing arts, these classes will show future employers your ability to commit and dedicate yourself outside of school to a specialist, practical drama school training. This looks great on your record of achievement and future CV.

NPA Advanced Pre-Professional Training Company (Year 8 - Year 11)

If you are absolutely at home on the stage, and ready for some extra challenge in your weekly training then you can audition for  the Advanced Company. This is a group that all share the same passion and talent as you, because you have to prepare an audition to move in to this group.

NPA Elite Pre-Professional Training Company (Year 10 - Age 19)

​

This top level of our training is reserved for only those who want to take their performing arts training really seriously. This group work hard, are self-motivated and have so many opportunities to push themselves to achieve great things. 

​

Elite Training Company are a talented squad, they have to audition to gain a place in the team and are taken on a performing arts training journey like no other. You don't have to want to pursue a creative career, but you do have to want to be the very best you can be. This weekly training is 2.5 hours a week and will give you so much for your future CV or university/ job interviews to talk about. Training at this level shows comittment, self-discipline, resilience, leadership and teamwork - it also results in professional qualifications that carry UCAS points for university applications.

At NPA, we have strong links with the top colleges and drama schools in the U.K and regular tutors have attended some of the best in the world. Advanced and Elite students undertake group LAMDA exams at the higher grades, competitions and many performance opportunities are on offer throughout the year - recently we made a feature-length film that was screened at the Odeon Cinema, hosted a spoken word night with special guests and performed at York Theatre Royal as part of National Connections Festival in partnership with the National Theatre in London and won a fantastic 7 trophies in a One-Act Play Theatre Festival.
